- A prophecy from Abram’s great great grandmother foretelling of his mission and threefold covenant.

- There were about 900,000 people in the crowd watching Abraham about to be sacrificed by the priest of Elkenah. Satan appeared in human form and tried to get Abraham to deny God. Enoch (divine investiture) came and saved Abraham and everyone probably saw him.
- There was a famine after this experience and Abraham fled Ur even convincing his father, Terah, to repent and go with him.
- Abraham set up his tent in Haran (already a strategic crossroads of 3 major trade routes) in a very strategic location where all who entered or exited the city would pass by so that he could do better work as a missionary for God. Many spiritual pilgrims visiting Noah’s ark would stop by on their way to visit with Abraham.
- The Lord gave Abraham Adam’s chest (a patriarchal ark of the covenant) which contained the records of Adam, Seth and Enoch and even the staff of Adam cut from the tree of good and evil. He also gave him Noah’s urim and thummim to translate these records.
- Reading these patriarchal records, he learned about Adam & Enoch’s role in building Zion and achieving translation.
- Abraham received his first ordinances and priesthood in Haran (probably by the hand of Enoch).
- Abraham and his followers performed preliminary/dynastic sealings and adoptions before the full ordinances were received; much like the early pioneers of this dispensation.
- Abraham learned of Enoch’s covenant which includes the promise to eventually bring Zion back to earth and that the Melchizedek priesthood is the order that gives mortals access to that city.
- A visible cloud of holiness hovered over Sarah’s tent much like the pillar of cloud by day that led the Israelites out of Egypt.
- Abraham was led out of Haran on a “tour” of the promised land where his group visited many important future sites for his posterity.
- Abraham’s mother likely died in Haran and his father Terah did not continue with them when they left.
- While nomadic in Shechem, one of Abraham’s group was grossly mistreated but Abraham did not respond in kind; showing his character was true even under duress.
- Abraham likely had a portable tabernacle that he and his group set up everywhere they went. Alters were built at each stop to praise and worship the Lord.
- A second famine (this time in Caanan) forced the group down to Egypt’s fertility.
- Arriving at Egypt’s border customs, Abraham had a dream about a date-palm and a cedar (representing he and Sarai) that warned him to call Sarai his sister and not his wife. He was so troubled that he arose and built an altar to sacrifice one of the remaining animals for further light and knowlege.
- In response through the urim and thumim, Abraham received a close up view of the stars and was given his first promise of a large posterity comparable to the stars.
- While in Egypt, Abraham sought knowledge about history, astronomy, theology, and science. He spoke every tongue and mastered every art. He taught them arithmetic and astronomy.
- Sarah also had trials and tests separate from her husband. Egypt was one of hers: whether she would give up the poverty and nomadic lifestyle and assimilate as queen of Egypt.
- The Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with multiple calamities. Pharaoh had a dream that Abraham could heal him and requested the blessing with Abraham willingly gave.
- Facsimile 3 in the Pearl of Great Prices comes from this story when Pharaoh showered Abraham with gifts of gratitude and sat him upon the royal throne. Pharaoh was converted by Abraham.
